Bob Bosold has been the Farm Director at WAXX 104 for 36 years. Bob received the Farm Broadcaster of the Year award in 2002 and was recently inducted into the Wisconsin Broadcasters Hall of Fame. He also makes many appearances at farm related events, where he enjoys visiting with WAXX listeners. Bob spends much of his leisure time with his two sons.
Bob has hosted over 30 farm tours to many fascinating destinations including San Antonio, New Orleans, Alaska, California, Florida, Hawaii and New England. His international tours include Italy, China, Railroading in the Rockies, Austria & Germany, Switzerland, Australia, Ireland, New Zealand and Holland.

Day 1 : Fly to Geneva
Today we board an overnight flight to Geneva where we begin our adventure.
Day 2 : Lake Geneva
We meet our European Guide and Driver upon arrival and enjoy a short orientation tour of Geneva. We travel to the picturesque town of Yvoire where we have lunch on our own. We visit the Maison de l’Etivaz and enjoy a cheesemaking demonstration, cheese tasting, and tour the aging cellars. Later we reach Villars, our home for the next five nights and get acquainted with our fellow travelers at a Holiday Vacations Welcome Dinner. D
Day 3 : Chillon Castle
After breakfast we travel to the Lavaux region on Lake Geneva’s north bank where we marvel at beautiful vineyard terraces. We visit the Lavaux Vinorama and learn about grape cultivation. Lunch is aboard an authentic paddle steamer as we cruise lovely Lake Geneva. The cruise ends in the town of Vevey where we visit the Alimentarium Food Museum and learn about the history of food in Nestlé’s former headquarters. We travel to Montreux and visit the romantic Chillon Castle, built on an island on Lake Geneva. We have dinner with views of the beautiful castle, then return to Villars for our overnight. B,L,D
Day 4 : Zermatt
Travel the Rhône River Valley past pastures, orchards, and vineyards. In Täsch we board a train headed for Zermatt, featuring magnificent views of the mountains. Enjoy a stroll through the old village and learn how the mountain farmers once lived. Enjoy free time and lunch on our own, then take the cog railway to the summit of the Gornergrat, featuring breathtaking panoramas of the Swiss Alps. We return to Villars and spend the evening at our leisure. B
Day 5 : Broc, Gruyéres, & Gstaad
We travel to Broc and tour the famous Maison Cailler Nestlé chocolate factory, where we discover the secrets to chocolate manufacturing and learn the well-known factory's 119-year-old history. We visit Gruyéres, the city of cheese. Learn how cheese is made at La Maison Gruyéres, and after a film and demonstration, sample Gruyére cheese before a special fondue lunch. In the afternoon, we travel to beautiful Gstaad, internationally renowned for its luxury and high society tourism. Learn about cheesemaking and farming in the Saanen region at the Hof Bach-Helbling farm. We return to Villars for dinner and have the evening to make our own adventures. B,L
Day 6 : Aosta Valley
We visit the Aosta Valley, an enchanting river valley nestled between green Alpine foothills. Explore the 1000-year-old Fort Bard, once a historic fortress and now home to the Museum of the Alps. We visit the Romanesque Medieval city of Aosta and enjoy a guided tour, where we see historical landmarks including the Arch of Augustus, the Porta Praetoria and the Church of Sant’Orso. Enjoy leisure time to explore Aosta before returning to Villars. B
Day 7 : Interlaken
We say goodbye to Villars to depart for Interlaken, a high-Alpine wonderland Lavaux of eternal ice and snow. We take a cogwheel train to Europe's highest-altitude railway station, more than 11,000 feet above sea level! We arrive at the Jungfraujoch, in the heart of a glacial expanse, with views as far as France's Vosges Mountains and Germany's Black Forest. We return to Interlaken and then travel by motorcoach to the city of Brienz, known for its long tradition in wood art, and featuring the Brunngasse, once awarded "the most beautiful street in Europe." Our accommodations for the next two nights are in Lucerne. B
Day 8 : Lucerne
Today we visit the Engelberg’s Schaukäserei, a cheese dairy located in an ancient monastery. We tour the dairy and taste several different cheeses. After lunch on our own we tour a Lucerne farm, followed by a stroll through Lucerne's Medieval streets and covered bridges. The evening is ours to explore or relax. B
Day 9 : Oktoberfest
This morning we bid farewell to Lucerne and travel through Liechtenstein as we cross over into Germany. We stop in Lindau, a charming German town located on an island in Lake Constance, where we have lunch before traveling to Munich. Here we spend the afternoon at Oktoberfest, the world’s largest funfair with a history going as far back as 1810. Our accommodations for tonight and tomorrow are in the Munich area. B
Day 10 : Munich
This morning we join a local guide for a tour of Munich. We see sights including the Marienplatz historic town square, the city's oldest church Sankt Peter, the open-air market Viktualienmarkt, the world-famous beer hall Hofbräuhaus, and the Bavarian State Chancellery. The rest of the afternoon is ours for exploration. In the evening, we celebrate our adventures with our new friends with a Holiday Vacations Farewell Dinner. B,D
Day 11 : Fly Home
After breakfast we return home from Munich with memories of our fantastic adventure. B
