Bob Bosold has been the Farm Director at WAXX 104.5 for 40 years. Bob received the Farm Broadcaster of the Year award in 2002 and was recently inducted into the Wisconsin Broadcasters Hall of Fame. He also makes many appearances at farm related events, where he enjoys visiting with WAXX listeners. Bob spends much of his leisure time with his two sons.
Bob has hosted over 30 farm tours to many fascinating destinations including San Antonio, New Orleans, Alaska, California, Florida, Hawaii and New England. His international tours

Daily Itinerary Items

Day 1 : Fly to Honolulu
Delight in a traditional flower lei greeting and feel the aloha spirit that draws so many travelers to this lush island paradise. We check-in to the beautiful Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa for four nights. Each room features your own private balcony.

Day 2 : Pearl Harbor
We begin our day with the most moving site on Oahu, Pearl Harbor. At the visitor center, we view the galleries and exhibits that recall December 7, 1941, the day that catapulted the U.S. into World War II. A documentary film precedes our Navy launch out to the USS Arizona Memorial to observe the sunken battleship. Welcome new friends over a Mai Tai during our Holiday Vacations Welcome Lunch at Gordon Biersch Brewery. This afternoon, we enjoy a tour of the downtown Honolulu area.. B,L

Day 3 : Polynesian Cultural Center
This Morning we’re introduced to Oahu agriculture during a tour of the Monsanto Hawaii Testing Facility. Later enjoy a stop at the Dole Plantation Visitors Center before visiting Kahuku Farms. This fourth generation operation is run by two families and has previously been named the Small Business of the Year in Honolulu. We’ll tour their facility, learn about their trade and enjoy an included lunch. Next we visit the Polynesian Cultural Center, to learn about Polynesian villages, traditions, and crafts. After a sumptuous traditional dinner, we are entranced by the spectacular production of “Ha: Breath of Life” performed by over 100 natives. L, D

Day 4 : Oahu
Relax and enjoy a day of leisure. Lounge on the golden sands of Waikiki Beach, explore Diamond Head crater, or lose yourself in Honolulu’s downtown ambience.

Day 5 : Volcanoes National Park
We fly to Hilo on Hawaii’s Big Island this morning. Our private driver/guide takes us to Volcanoes National Park, stopping along the way at dramatic overlooks for photo opportunities. The unique landscape of the island features remarkable tunnel-like lava tubes and black sand beaches. We retire to the lovely Sheraton Kona Resort & Spa perched on black lava rocks and overlooking the blue waters of the Pacific. L

Day 6 : Kona Farm Visits
After breakfast at the hotel we depart for Big Island Dairy. Producing over 8,000 gallons of milk per day, they are one of the few remaining dairy farm homesteads on the island. After lunch we visit the Hamakua Mac Nut Company to learn about and sample some of Kona’s world famous macadamia nuts. We return to our hotel for our second evening on this fantastic island. B,L

Day 7 : Waimea Canyon
Fly this morning to Kauai, known as the Garden Isle for its lush landscapes. We enjoy an open-air lunch at Kilohana Plantation, the historic home of sugar baron, Gaylord Wilcox. Later, sample coffee at the Kauai Coffee Plantation, the country’s largest coffee grower before witnessing the vast gorge of red rock and emerald green vegetation of Waimea Canyon. Later, we arrive at the Kauai Beach Resort, enjoy rooms with private balconies and manicured grounds. L

Day 8 : Taro Farm Visit
Delight in a delicious breakfast, before meeting a representative of the Kauai County Farm Bureau, to learn about local agriculture. We then visit Hanalei Taro and Juice Company, a working taro farm in Hanalei Valley. Lunch is a traditional Hawaiian plate featuring unique items prepared with the farm’s taro. Dinner is included at the hotel’s Naupaka Terrace Restaurant. B,L,D

Day 9 : Maui
This morning we fly to Maui. Enjoy the oceanic wonders including sea turtles and live coral displays at the Maui Ocean Center before an included lunch. After we visit Lahaina, an old whaling port known for its gigantic Banyan tree. Later, we arrive at the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort & Spa, featuring 40 lavish oceanfront acres and private balconies. L

Day 10 : The Valley Isle
We begin the morning with a visit to the Maui Gold Pineapple Plantation and enjoy a guided tour of the harvesting fields, the packing and shipping factory and sample fresh pineapple. Next we tour the Hali’imaile Distilling Company. Discover and taste how local flavors and a unique distilling process creates authentic Hawaiian spirits. Next, we depart for Malolo Farm to admire their unique varieties of Protea flowers. B,L

Day 11 : Traditional Luau
Relax and enjoy a day of leisure. A pleasant stroll from the hotel leads to Whalers Village, an inviting area of shops, dining and live entertainment. Tonight, say farewell Hawaiian style at the Drums of the Pacific Luau and Polynesian Show. Our evening ends with the music and dances of the South Pacific! D

Day 12 : Aloha Lunch
Today we explore the Maui Tropical Plantation, producing papaya, mango, pineapple, and more. After a Holiday Vacations Farewell Lunch, we board our flight to the mainland. L

Day 13 : Arrive Home
A Hui Hou (until we meet again).
