Bob Bosold has been the Farm Director at WAXX 104.5 for 40 years. Bob received the Farm Broadcaster of the Year award in 2002 and was recently inducted into the Wisconsin Broadcasters Hall of Fame. He also makes many appearances at farm related events, where he enjoys visiting with WAXX listeners. Bob spends much of his leisure time with his two sons.

Day 1 : Fly to Seattle
Upon arrival in Seattle, we travel to our hotel accommodations for the evening.
Day 2 : Ferry to Victoria
After breakfast, we drive along the Olympic Peninsula before a ferry crossing takes us to beautiful Vancouver Island. We arrive in enchanting Victoria, the provincial capital of British Columbia. Settle in for two relaxing nights at the beautiful Chateau Victoria Hotel & Suites. Shops, cafes and interesting attractions are just a stroll away. Tonight we enjoy a Welcome Dinner at The Keg Restaurant. B,D
Day 3 : The Butchart Gardens®
This morning we visit The Butchart Gardens®, one of the most acclaimed horticultural exhibitions in the world. Stroll along pathways through wonderfully landscaped theme gardens and enjoy the seasonal floral displays. See the Ross Fountains play its pattern of water displays every four minutes. A delightful lunch is included at the gardens. We return to Victoria and have the afternoon at leisure to browse in the delightful shops or visit local attractions. L
Day 4 : Holsteins & Bison
We head north along the coast of Vancouver Island to Silvermaple Holsteins. This family run operation recently installed a second robotic milker and now fully utilizes robotics to milk their purebred herd. Next we visit Morning Star Bison Ranch and travel with ‘Buffalo Bob’ on the Buffalo Bus into the fields to learn about and interact with the bison up close. Midday, we board a ferry for the mainland of British Columbia. We arrive in Vancouver, Canada’s third largest city, for our overnight accommodations. L
Day 5 : Fraser Valley
We begin our day with a visit and tour of VanderMeulen Greenhouses in Abbotsford, BC, a state-of-the-art greenhouse. Learn about this family farms progressive and innovative approach to growing bell peppers. We continue on to Corner’s Pride Farm in Rosedale, BC. First established in 1968 as a 30-cow dairy this farm has now grown to over 1,600 cows and is the single largest Lely robotic farm in Canada. After a delectable lunch at the Harrison Hot Springs Resort, we return to Vancouver by Scenic Hwy 7 stopping at Golden Ears Cheesecrafters along the way. Run by two sisters, this Artisan Cheese processing facility gets their premium milk from their very own Family diary next door. Watch the cheesemakers at work though their viewing window and sample the end products. We return to Vancouver and enjoy dinner overlooking English Bay before heading to Pacific Central Station. This evening we have priority boarding on VIA Rail’s historic Canadian train and begin our journey to Jasper in their Sleeper Plus cars. The train features top-notch service and excellent extras including freshly prepared meals. L,D
Day 6 : Jasper
Enjoy a scrumptious included breakfast on the train this morning as you awaken to the picturesque scenery of the Canadian Rockies. Take in the incredible views from your roomy and comfortable seating this afternoon over an expertly prepared lunch. For better views of the majestic and unspoiled wilderness, make your way to the top floor for the panoramic views from the Skyline car. This afternoon we arrive in Jasper. B,L
Day 7 : Columbia Icefield & Lake Louise
Breathtaking scenery borders our route today along the Icefields Parkway. This beautiful area is famous for the glacial blue waters of its many lakes nestled among the mountains. At the Columbia Icefield, we board a giant Glacier Explorer that carries us onto Athabasca Glacier. We journey to Banff for two relaxing evenings. D
Day 8 : Banff
This morning we enjoy a panoramic tour of the Banff area. Take in stunning views during lunch at the historic and grand Banff Springs Hotel. The afternoon is ours to explore this unique, mountain town. L
Day 9 : Calgary
We travel by motorcoach to Calgary. Step back in time as we visit Canada’s largest living history museum. Calgary’s Heritage Park isn’t a museum where history stays behind the glass. The interactive exhibits, costumed interpreters, historic buildings and hundreds of working antiques are all just waiting for you to touch, smell, taste, hear and see how the West once was. Our visit begins with a special tour incorporating their heirloom seeds, gardens and Grain Elevator before leisure time to explore at your own pace. We settle in for a relaxing evening at the International Hotel Calgary. Tonight reminisce with new friends at our Holiday Vacations Farewell Dinner. B,D
Day 10 : Fly Home
Bid farewell to the beauty of Canada as we depart for the airport. We will long remember our incredible adventure through the Canadian Rockies and western Canada.
