Day 1 : Fly to Glasgow
This afternoon we board an overnight flight to begin our journey to Scotland.

Day 2 : Arrive in Scotland
Today we arrive in Glasgow, Scotland's largest city, beautifully situated on the River Clyde. On our way to the hotel, we take in a brief tour featuring George Square and the city's Victorian-era landmarks. Our accommodations for the next two evenings are at the Hallmark Hotel in Glasgow. Tonight, we will enjoy a Holiday Vacations Welcome Dinner featuring delicious local fare and a bagpipe performance. D

Day 3 : Tour Stirling Castle
We begin our day with breakfast and then set out for a city tour of Glasgow. The city offers a remarkable collection of medieval buildings in addition to showcasing Victorian and "Glasgow Style" architecture of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. We then travel to Stirling Castle. One of the country's grandest castles, it displays impressive design and towers over Stirling Bridge, the site of William Wallace's great victory in 1297. We complete our day at Bannockburn where Robert the Bruce defeated the English in 1314. Tour the visitors center and discover the history of this famous battle. The evening is yours to explore the many exquisite shops and restaurants of Glasgow. B

Day 4 : Discover the Highlands
Enjoy breakfast before we travel the breathtaking Scottish Highlands. We take in Geilston Garden. Developed over 200 years ago, it provides surreal flowerbeds highlighted by a majestic 100-foot tall Wellingtonia tree. Then we travel to Loch Lomond, Great Britain's largest lake. Wonder at your surroundings during an awe-inspiring cruise on the island-dotted loch. Later, we visit scenic Glencoe, offering soaring mountains, rushing rivers, and dramatic waterfalls. We stay the next two nights in Fort William. Fort William's setting is dramatic on the shore of Loch Linnhe and under the mighty hulk of Britain's highest mountain. B

Day 5 : Isle of Skye
Start the morning with breakfast at the hotel, and then embark on an excursion to the extraordinary Isle of Skye, known for its vivid history, stunning scenery and strong Gaelic traditions. En route, we visit Glenfinnan Monument, honoring the "Bonnie Prince Charlie." After, we board a ferry for Armadale where we enjoy a spectacular scenic drive through the unbelievable Cuillin Hills Sligachan. Returning to the mainland via the astounding Skye Bridge, we stop for photos at iconic Eilean Donan Castle. B,D

Day 6 : Urquhart Castle
Delight in a delicious breakfast. Today, we continue our journey to the Great Glen, making a special stop at fabled Loch Ness to see if we can spot the famed mythical creature. Later, we visit the ruins of Urquhart Castle. Dating to the 13th century, this formidable castle played a major role in the wars for Scottish Independence and today offers spectacular views of the surrounding countryside. Our next stop is Culloden Moor where we can walk the battlegrounds from the Jacobite Rising. We spend the next two nights at the Palace hotel in Inverness. The city's picturesque Highlands location is astride the River Ness at the northern end of the Great Glen. B,D

Day 7 : Dunrobin Gardens
We continue our journey today with a leisurely drive along the scenic coastal road encountering sheep, cows, and Shetland ponies en route to the majestic Dunrobin Castle and gardens. The castle was built in 1275 and has served as the seat of the Earls and Dukes of Sutherland for centuries. We take in the views overlooking the majestic North Sea. After a tour of the castle and grounds, we view a thrilling falconry demonstration. The resident falconer gives us amazing insight into this ancient sport. We return to Inverness through the unspoiled and lush scenery of Sutherland County. B

Day 8 : Visit Blair Athol
We will reveal interesting Scottish gems today as we make our way to Edinburgh. We begin with a drive through breathtaking Cairngorms National Park, one of the largest in the UK. After, we discover Pitlochry, a Victorian spa town that has managed to retain its idyllic charm. Later, we make a special visit to Blair Athol Distillery, the home of Bell's 8-Year-Old Extra Special, the best-selling whiskey in the UK. Enjoy a tour of the production areas and the opportunity to try the "Water of Life." After, we continue to Edinburgh and check in for the first of our two nights at the Radisson Blu Hotel, the pinnacle of luxury in Edinburgh. Tonight we enjoy a traditional Scottish evening featuring dinner and live music. B,D

Day 9 : Experience Edinburgh
This morning, we embark on a city tour including the Georgian "New Town" and the medieval "Old Town." Our tour concludes with a visit to Holyrood Palace, the residence of the Scottish Monarch. Founded in 1128, we tour this incredible estate and learn its impressive history. The remainder of the day is free to visit towering Edinburgh Castle, discover museums, galleries and more at your leisure. B

Day 10 : Return Home
Following an included breakfast this morning, we return home with a lifetime of wonderful memories. CB
