Daily Itinerary Items

Day 1 : Fly to Charlotte
We fly to Charlotte, North Carolina for a restful night at a deluxe hotel.


Day 2 : The Biltmore
After an included breakfast, we depart for Asheville and the Biltmore Estate, the country’s largest private residence. Upon arrival in Antler Hill Village we have free time for lunch and exploration, including complimentary wine tasting at the Biltmore Estate Winery or shopping at many boutiques and craft stores. Later we tour the vast Biltmore mansion with an audio guide. B,D


Day 3 : The Smoky Mountains
We board our motorcoach and drive into Great Smoky Mountains National Park to enjoy the breathtaking views. The Smokies are the highest mountains east of the Rockies, rising to more than 5,000 feet. We learn about the park during our guided tour, then ride the Ober Gatlinburg Aerial Tramway for lunch on Mt. Harrison. There’s free time to savor the sights or walk around town, then travel to Pigeon Forge for the Hatfield & McCoy dinner show with luxurious accommodations nearby. B,L,D


Day 4 : Dollywood
In the morning we’re off to Pigeon Forge’s Titanic Museum, featuring an audio tour with exhibits, artifacts and replica architecture of the famous passenger liner. Enjoy lunch in a secret room aboard the ship. Spend the afternoon at Dollywood, Dolly Parton’s fascinating amusement park and experience impressive live performances. This evening we depart for The Smoky Mountain Opry for the ultimate variety show with singers, dancers, comedians, aerialists, musicians and high-tech visuals. B,L


Day 5 : Museum of Appalachia
We’re Kentucky-bound this morning with a stop at the Museum of Appalachia, a tribute to the spirit of the American South. Browse historical exhibits, hear musicians play old-time music, and stroll through rustic paths, gardens and cabins that reflect a bygone era. We arrive in the Bluegrass State and check-in to our comfortable accommodations with an included dinner nearby. B,D 


Day 6 : Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill
The day kicks off with a tour of the Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill, a beautiful heritage park revealing the culture, community, and ingenuity of the Kentucky Shakers. Lunch features delicious dishes from fresh ingredients grown in the village. There’s time to browse the shops and listen to a musical performance, then board the Dixie Belle Riverboat for a narrated river cruise. We depart for Old Fort Harrod’s and tour the museum, browsing artifacts dating back as far as the 15th century. B,L


Day 7 : My Old Kentucky Home
One of America’s most famous and celebrated landmarks, we tour the My Old Kentucky Home mansion and witness extraordinary antiques, paintings, fashion, stories and a culinary class with tastings of cuisine once offered on Federal Hill. We have lunch at The Old Talbott Tavern, often called the oldest western stagecoach stop in America. After a city tour of Louisville in the afternoon, we’re dropped off at Whiskey Row for a tour of the Evan Williams Bourbon Distillery. This evening we spend time at the Louisville Jack O’ Lantern Spectacular, in which 5,000 professionally-carved pumpkins illuminate an enchanting trail along Iroquois Park. B,L


Day 8 : Louisville Sights
There’s no experience quite like a morning at Churchill Downs Racetrack, home of the Kentucky Derby. Get behind the scenes of the legendary racetrack with breakfast in the Horsemen’s Track Kitchen, then tour Churchill Downs Racetrack, the Kentucky Derby Museum and more. Enjoy lunch and shopping at Fourth Street Live!, a huge retail and entertainment district downtown and learn how baseball bats are made at the Louisville Slugger Museum. Finally, celebrate the end of your fantastic adventure in the south with a Farewell Dinner at the Derby Dinner Playhouse, one of the oldest dinner theatres in the country. B,D 


Day 9 : Fly Home
We fly home, bidding farewell to Louisville with our cherished memories.
