Day 1 : Depart the USA
Our wonderful Italian vacation begins with an overnight flight to Europe.
Day 2 : Arrive in Italy
Welcome to Italy! We transfer to Pozzuoli and ferry to the island of Ischia where we check in at the Hotel Villa Carolina for a four-night stay.
Day 3 : Ischia
Today we explore Ischia with a guided tour of this island paradise. An idyllic island, Ischia offers visitors beauty and hospitality.
Day 4 : Capri & Anacapri
This morning we ferry to Capri Island, where we visit the towns of Capri and Anacapri. Relax at a local cafe in the famous Piazzetta. World-class shopping is available at Via Camerelle. Art and architecture enthusiasts will love Axel Munthe's villa, the Church of San Michele, and the lovely Gardens of Augustus.
Day 5 : Procida: Italy's Capital of Culture
We arrive in Procida for a half-day visit. Located in the Bay of Naples, this special place was designated the Italian Capital of Culture in 2022. We explore the area's smallest island and best-kept secret.
Day 6 : Pompeii
The day begins with a visit to La Mortella Gardens, with jaw-dropping views of the Bay of Forio. After an authentic pizza lunch in Naples, we explore Pompeii Archaeological Park. A private guided tour takes through what is left of the city after the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD.
Day 7 : The Amalfi Coast
The breathtaking Amalfi Coast is our destination today. The region is famous for its picturesque seaside villages, and colorful architecture. We explore the quaint resort towns of Positano and Amalfi. We end the day with a boat ride to Maiori, and later a taste of limoncello, the sweet Italian liqueur locally produced with lemon zest.
Day 8 : Sorrento
Our last day in Italy features beautiful Sorrento. At a local farm, learn about the traditional mozzarella cheese-making process and visit the lovely gardens. We'll share memories of our remarkable Italian adventure during our farewell meal.
