Steve has served as KXII’s Chief Meteorologist since 2006. He received “Best Weathercast” awards three times from the Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters (OAB) in 2006, 2008 and 2009, and more recently from the Oklahoma Associated Press Broadcasters (OAPB) in 2015, and the Texas Associated Press Broadcasters (TAPB) in 2014.
Steve is also an author; he was honored with three awards in 2013, including one from the National Federation of Press Women (NFPW) for his book “Weather Wits and Science Snickers.” The book uses silly jokes to introduce children to cool science facts. He released his second work, “Twister Tales: Unraveling Tornado Myths” for a general adult audience in 2014.
Steve’s varied interests include music, writing, travel, history, philosophy, and of course all things science!
