Day 1 : Fly to Honolulu
Then we check-in to our hotel for two nights. Rooms feature private balconies and an ideal location close to the white sands of Waikiki Beach with views of Diamond Head.
A traditional lei greeting welcomes us to tropical paradise!
Day 2 : Pearl Harbor
Journey to the most moving site on Oahu, Pearl Harbor National Memorial. On December 7, 1941, the Japanese attacked the Navy’s Pacific Fleet here, catapulting the U.S. into World War II. We stop by the visitor center to view the exhibits that recall that pivotal day. Then, embark on a Navy launch to the USS Arizona Memorial, which spans the sunken battleship.
After lunch we tour the Honolulu area, visiting the volcanic shaped Hawaiian State Capitol building and Iolani Palace, the only palace in the U.S. once inhabited by a reigning monarch. We’ll then visit the Punchbowl, an extinct volcano and home of the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific.
Day 3 : Embark on the Pride of America
After a free morning, we transfer to the only U.S.-flagged cruise ship, Norwegian Cruise Line’s Pride of America to begin our seven-night cruise. Enjoy all the benefits of NCL’s Freestyle Cruising, including the freedom to dine whenever and wherever you’d like. The on-board native ambassadors will teach you about their culture, providing a genuine Hawaii experience.
Day 4 : Maui
Our first port of call is Kahului, Maui. We have ample time to explore the Valley Isle, so named for its long blankets of green among soaring mountains. Popular excursions include the Road to Hana and visits to Haleakala National Park.
Day 5 : The Valley Isle
Wake up for a second day in Maui today and choose from NCL's excursions to the old whaling port of Lahaina or the Maui Ocean Center. Or, relax onboard and enjoy the many entertainment and dining options available.
Day 6 : Volcanoes National Park
We sail into Hilo on the Big Island this morning, gateway to the fascinating world of active volcanoes.
Enjoy a lunch at Kilauea Lodge located just outside Volcanoes National Park.
With our own private driver-guide we explore volcanic craters, steaming pits and eerie lava formations. Volcanoes National Park displays the monumental results of 70 million years of volcanic activity and sheds light on the creation of the Hawaiian Islands.
Back on board, we cruise around the Big Island to Kona.
Day 7 : The Big Island
We visit the leeward (west) side of the Big Island today, anchoring off the coast and taking tenders into the heart of Kailua-Kona. Time is at your leisure to choose from a variety of activities, or discover why this area is famous for its coffee.
Day 8 : Traditional Luau
We dock in Nawiliwili, Kauai, this morning and stay overnight. Kauai is known as The Garden Isle, a lush paradise of rain forests, tropical flowers, magnificent canyons, and beaches. Norwegian Cruise Line will provide ample options for exploration.
Tonight we make our way to a traditional Hawaiian Luau at the beautiful Kilohana Plantation.
Day 9 : Na Pali Coast
Explore Kauai today, perhaps with an excursion to the spectacular Waimea Canyon or a kayak or zipline adventure.
Later, we cruise the breathtaking Na Pali Coast, a true highlight of our tour where stunning cliffs plummet down 4,000 feet to the ocean.
Day 10 : Oahu’s North Shore
We disembark our ship this morning in Honolulu.
Enjoy a private tour to Oahu’s North Shore, a mecca for surfers and those seeking blue waters and a taste of old Hawaii.
Later, board our overnight flight to the mainland.
Day 11 : Arrive Home
A Hui Hou (until we meet again).
