Day 1 : Fly to Philadelphia

We depart for the City of Brotherly Love, Philadelphia. Our accommodations are in the heart of the city, steps from the city’s famous entertainment, dining and attractions.

Day 2 : Independence Hall & Liberty Bell

Enjoy the fascinating landmarks of this historic city today. We begin at Independence Hall, walk through the Assembly Room, still arranged as it was during the Constitutional Convention, view the original inkstand used to sign the Declaration and an original draft of the Constitution. Then, discover the story of the famous Liberty Bell. This afternoon, tour The National Constitution Center, containing exhibits and artifacts dedicated to one of the most important documents in the history of the world. Don judicial robes and render your opinion on historic Supreme Court cases. Take the Presidential oath and view a rare original copy of the Constitution. D

Day 3 : Civil War Museum

We travel to Harrisburg for a visit to the National Civil War Museum. Artifact collections, photographs and informative videos help to tell the story of key conflicts that changed the fate and story of our country forever. View an introductory film and see the Cyclorama, depicting the Battle of Gettysburg prior to our battlefield tour. Later, we check-in to our accommodations in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. B


Day 4 : Gettysburg

Today we view the hallowed grounds of Gettysburg. The famous battle was a major turning point in the Civil War and a decisive Union victory that stopped General Robert E. Lee’s invasion of the North. Known as The High Water Mark of the Rebellion, this location was also the key inspiration for Abraham Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address. We also tour the Gettysburg Visitor Center & Museum. Their one-of-a-kind collection of uniforms, weapons and soldier’s items includes the George Rosensteel Collection, one of the largest collections of Civil War artifacts in the United States. This evening we arrive in Washington, D.C. for the first of our four nights in America's capital.

Day 5 : Washington, D.C.

An expert local guide joins us this morning to share the city’s incredible history during an educational driving tour. We view the Martin Luther King Memorial, inspired by his famous I Have A Dream speech; the Washington Monument, an iconic marble obelisk dominating the city skyline; and the FDR Memorial, a testament to one of the country’s most beloved presidents. Our tour continues this afternoon with the Jefferson Memorial, standing as a symbol of liberty and the Lincoln Memorial, overlooking the reflecting pool and the site of many defining moments in the country’s history. Day 6 : City Tour

We depart for another fascinating day of touring. We remember the brave heroes of our nation’s history with visits to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, a somber and moving black wall remembering our fallen brothers; the Korean War Memorial, featuring a figure representing each of the patrol squads; and the World War II Memorial, representing the Atlantic & Pacific theaters, adorned with gold stars symbolizing those who were lost. Lunch and early afternoon will be at Union Station, host to 17 presidents and countless foreign dignitaries. After lunch we visit the Smithsonian Institution, the world’s largest museum and research complex. Fondly referred to as America’s Attic, enjoy the exhibits of the Air & Space Museum, Natural History Museum, American History Museum and much more. B,D

Day 7 : Mt. Vernon & Smithsonian

Today, we venture out of the capital city to Mount Vernon. Savor an included colonial luncheon at the historic Mount Vernon Inn. Tour the former plantation of George and Martha Washington situated on the banks of the Potomac River. Wonder at the estate’s incredible grounds including the Mansion House and museum galleries. B,L

Day 8 : Colonial Williamsburg

This morning takes us to the Revolutionary City, Williamsburg, Virginia. Enjoy a tour of Colonial Williamsburg, accompanied by costumed interpreters. We are introduced to the political figures, shopkeepers and tradespeople of revolutionary-era Williamsburg as the past comes to life before our eyes. Learn about the challenges of their daily life and get caught up in the historic moments taking place around you. Enjoy a lively atmosphere and a homestyle lunch at Shield's Tavern. This evening, discover the magical museums, gardens and ghosts that make this city a historical treasure. Then we check-in to our centrally located Williamsburg accommodations for the next two nights. B,L

Day 9 : Jamestown & Yorktown

Learn the fantastic stories of the original settlers today in Jamestown and Yorktown, Virginia. Visit the original site of the first permanent English settlement in North America and learn the story of the people who worked together to form a government and society. Explore exhibits and the Jamestown Settlement, where we board replicas of the three ships. Discover life-size re-creations of the colonists’ fort, Powhatan village, and tour a riverfront discovery area. This evening we gather for a delectable Holiday Vacations Farewell Dinner to reminisce. Day 10 : Fond Farewells

We return to Washington, D.C. then board our flights home with wonderful memories of our journey!
