Day 1 : Fly to Calgary
Upon arrival we check-in to our accommodations in Calgary.
Day 2 : Discover Calgary
In the morning, we spend time learning about this spectacular city just east of the Rocky Mountains.
After enjoying the highlights of Calgary, relax and savor lunch at Sky 360 atop the Calgary Tower, almost 630 feet above downtown.
Following lunch, we visit Glenbow Museum whose exhibits showcase Western Canadian history, art and culture.
We journey through the foothills and up into the mountains to Banff for two relaxing evenings.
Day 3 : Banff
Begin the day with a retired Royal Canadian Mounted Police meet and greet to hear stories and learn about the iconic Mountie uniform followed by a panoramic tour of the Banff area.
Take in breathtaking views during lunch at the historic and grand Fairmont Banff Springs hotel.
The afternoon is ours to explore this unique mountain town.
Day 4 : Columbia Icefield
Breathtaking scenery borders our route today along the Icefields Parkway. This beautiful area is famous for the glacial blue waters of its many lakes nestled among the mountains. At the Columbia Icefield, we board a giant Glacier Explorer that carries us onto Athabasca Glacier.
We stay in Jasper this evening.
Day 5 : Ride the Rails
This morning we board VIA Rail’s historic Canadian train and begin our journey to Vancouver in their Sleeper Plus cars. Enjoy top-notch service and unforgettable experiences onboard as you roll past the beautiful landscapes. Savor expertly prepared meals in the dining car.
Day 6 : Vancouver
Enjoy an included breakfast on the train this morning as you awaken. We arrive in Vancouver and take time to explore the city. Surrounded by water on three sides and nestled alongside the Coast Mountain Range, this vibrant city is the largest in British Columbia.
We find our adventurous side on a walk across the breathtaking Capilano Suspension Bridge.
After, we check-in to our accommodations for the night.
Day 7 : The Butchart Gardens®
This morning we board a ferry for Vancouver Island.
We visit The Butchart Gardens®, one of the most acclaimed horticultural exhibitions in the world. Stroll along pathways through wonderfully landscaped theme gardens and enjoy the seasonal floral displays. See the Ross Fountains play its pattern of water displays every four minutes.
A delightful lunch is included at the gardens.
Later, we arrive in enchanting Victoria, the provincial capital of British Columbia for two relaxing nights. Shops, cafes and interesting attractions are just a stroll away.
Day 8 : Victoria
A local guide joins us to tour Victoria, known for its British atmosphere. The city began as an outpost for the Hudson Bay Company in 1843. We view historic sites including the Parliament Building on the lovely Inner Harbor. Beautiful flower beds and gardens reflect the area’s passion for gardening.
A spectacular lunch is prepared for us at the elegant Fairmont Empress hotel.
We have the afternoon at leisure to browse in the delightful shops or to visit local attractions.
Day 9 : Ferry to Washington
This morning we depart Victoria by ferry and cross the Strait of Juan de Fuca and international border to Washington.
We drive along the Olympic Peninsula before arriving in Seattle.
Tonight we enjoy a Holiday Vacations Farewell Dinner at the hotel.
Day 10 : Fly Home
Bid farewell as we depart for the airport. We will long remember our incredible adventure through the Canadian Rockies and western Canada.

Riley is the Chief Meteorologist for WRDW/WAGT. You can see his forecasts Monday through Friday on WRDW at 4:30, 5, 5:30, 6, and 11PM and on WAGT at 4 and 7PM. He also visits area schools teaching students about weather concepts and severe weather safety. Riley started his career at WRDW/WAGT in 2017 as a weekend meteorologist and multimedia journalist.
He is a graduate of Benedictine Military School and the University of Georgia. He previously worked for The Delta News in Greenville, Mississippi as their morning meteorologist.
Riley and his wife, Emily, have two dogs who love going on walks and exploring the CSRA. He loves fishing, hunting, and any other activity in the great outdoors.
