Gary co-anchors 16 News Now Saturday Morning and is known by most viewers as the poetic weatherman who does “The Weather Could Be Verse” before each forecast. He has been a local presence in both radio and TV for decades.
Gary has worked at Channel 16 since 1980. He served as Director of News and Public Affairs from 1985-91 and managed FCC regulatory and First Amendment legal matters. He ran the education program offered through WNDU-TV for the University of Notre Dame for many years, and still teaches Broadcast Journalism and Ethics in Journalism as an Adjunct Professor of Film, Television, and Theatre.
Gary has twice won finalist awards from the prestigious New York Festivals for his documentary writing. He is currently also Vice President of Sales at Welch Packaging in Elkhart.
