Rob has been Storm Team 2’s Chief Meteorologist since 1987. Before arriving in Charleston, Rob worked at TV stations in Savannah, Georgia and Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Rob has been awarded the Seal of Approval from both the National Weather Association and the American Meteorological Society.
Following the coverage of Hurricane Hugo, Rob was named “Meteorologist of the Year” by the National Weather Association. Rob has also been recognized as South Carolina’s Weather Broadcaster of the Year in 1997. He won Best Meteorologist in the Carolinas in 2000 from the Radio and Television News Directors Association. He has been named “Best Weather Forecaster” in Charleston for 19 years by the Charleston City Paper. In 2017, Rob celebrated his 30th anniversary at WCBD and was inducted into the Southeast Emmy Silver Circle Society for his years of service on air and in the Charleston Community.
Rob is married and has three children. He is active in the community, volunteering for many organizations. Rob has previously hosted several Holiday Vacations’ tours.
