Cruise around South America’s southernmost tip from Buenos Aires to Santiago on Norwegian Cruise Line’s Norwegian Star. Fly in to the Argentinian capital and tour the city before boarding our luxurious cruise ship. Cruise south to Cape Horn, passing through the scenic Strait of Magellan before traveling northbound along the Chilean coastline. This 14-night cruise includes eight ports of call in Uruguay, Argentina, the Falkland Islands, and Chile. Take your pick from cozy Balcony, Oceanview, or Inside staterooms. Day 1 : Fly to Argentina
Our wonderful cruise vacation begins with an overnight flight to Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Day 2 : Buenos Aires, Argentina
This morning we arrive in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
A local guide joins us for a tour of this remarkable city.
We have the afternoon at our leisure to explore the city before checking-in to our hotel.

Day 3 : Board the Norwegian Star
Enjoy a leisurely morning in Buenos Aires. Later this afternoon we board the Norwegian Star for our 14-night South American cruise. All meals are included aboard the ship.
Day 4 : Montevideo, Uruguay
This morning our ship docks in Montevideo, Uruguay’s capital city. The day is free to explore the charming streets and colonial architecture of Old Town. Optional shore excursions include visiting Independence Square to see Salvo Palace, the Solis Theatre, and Rodo Park.
Day 5 : Punta Del Este, Uruguay
Often called the “Monaco of the South,” today’s port of call is one of Latin America’s favorite summertime getaways. Browse the artist market at Artigas Square, witness the immense stone sculpture La Mano (The Hand), and relax on an expansive 20 miles of sundrenched beach.
Day 6 : At Sea
The day is free to enjoy the amenities aboard our ship. Relax and enjoy Freestyle Cruising, fine dining, and entertainment.
Day 7 : Puerto Madryn, Argentina
The Puerto Madryn area of Argentina was founded by the Welsh in the late 19th century. The area is known for its unique animal species, see an astonishing display of wildlife including sea lions and penguins.
Day 8 : Enjoy the Views
We spend the day aboard our ship as we travel southeast to the Falkland Islands. Revel in the benefits of Freestyle Cruising and enjoy the ship's amenities.
Day 9 : Stanley, Falkland Islands
Today we visit Stanley, the capital of the Falkland Islands and the smallest, most remote capital city in the world. The British-controlled Falkland Islands are well known for their many varieties of wildlife including Rockhopper and Gentoo Penguins and shore birds.
Day 10 : Cape Horn
Cape Horn is known to many as the southernmost point of South America and for the chain of islands known as Tierra del Fuego. Ferdinand Magellan first passed through this area in 1520 and named the islands after the many fires of the Amerindians, which were visible from the sea. Today, its lighthouse is still known as one of the iconic landmarks for sailors. Lush terrain and penguin habitat offer us a wonderful glimpse into this tropical oasis at the edge of the world.
Day 11 : Ushuaia, Argentina
Located on the southern coast of the Tierra del Fuego is the Argentinian city of Ushuaia. The city is surrounded by glorious mountains and overlooks the Beagle Channel. Shore excursion options include Tierra del Fuego National Park, home to some of the most spectacular wildlife in the world. Later we cruise the Beagle Channel past immense glaciers and interesting marine wildlife.
Day 12 : Punta Arenas, Chile
Before the opening of the Panama Canal, ships making the trek around Cape Horn passed through Punta Arenas, situated on the northern bank of the Strait of Magellan. The city has rich maritime and sheep ranching history.
Day 13 : Strait of Magellan
Today we pass through the Strait of Magellan, named after Ferdinand Magellan, the first European to explore the strait. This waterway was the gateway between the Pacific and Atlantic oceans before the Panama Canal.
Day 14 : The Patagonic Channel
Our cruise continues as we explore the breathtaking Chilean fjordlands and the Patagonic Channel. Waterfalls tumble over steep canyon walls and snow-capped Andean peaks surround us. Hundreds of species of birds, including the near-threatened giant condor, play and feed here.
Day 15 : Puerto Montt, Chile
Puerto Montt is located in Chile’s spectacular Lake District and is a supply center for outlying fishing communities. This is one of the best places to purchase sweaters, baskets, and other handicrafts.
Day 16 : Unwind at Sea
Our ship continues its trek north up the coast of Chile. Join your Tour Director for a Farewell Dinner aboard the ship.
Day 17 : Santiago, Chile
Early this morning, we arrive in Puerto Central San Antonio. We travel to Chile's capital city, Santiago and tour the city with a local guide before our flight home.
Day 18 : Fly Home
We return home with wonderful memories of our vacation.
