Choose Your Departure Year:
Day 1 : Fly to Fort Myers
We board our flight to Fort Myers in the beautiful Sunshine State. Upon arrival we check in to our hotel, unpacking just once and settling in at our comfortable accommodations that will be our home for the next seven nights.
Day 2 : Edison & Ford Estates
Enjoy an included cooked-to-order breakfast at our hotel every morning. Then, we set out on our visit to the Edison and Ford Winter Estates. Thomas Edison began wintering here in 1886 and in 1916, his friend Henry Ford built his winter home next door. Discover Edison’s colorful botanical garden during our guided tour and see his laboratory just as he left it. We enjoy a Holiday Vacations Welcome Lunch before returning to our hotel with the remainder of the day at leisure.
Day 3 : Sanibel Island
Located on Southwest Florida’s Gulf Coast is charming Sanibel Island, world-renowned for its beaches, shelling and wildlife. While on the island we visit the renowned J.N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge and Bird Sanctuary where we go on an adventurous tram tour. We’ll stop at Sanibel Seashells to see a variety of unique shells found along the Gulf Coast and around the globe.
Day 4 : Airboats & Alligators
Today we visit one of the most impressive ecosystems in the world, the Florida Everglades. We board airboats for a narrated excursion through this expansive water habitat to learn about the environment and local wildlife. After, enjoy a guided walking tour of the Audubon Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary. One of the great conservation success stories, this 13,000-acre preserve is home to the largest old growth Bald Cypress in North America dating back more than 500 years. This area offers close-up views of alligators, otters, turtles and many species of birds. Take a little time to unwind this afternoon before our included dinner.
Day 5 : Island Cruise
Travel to Captiva Island this morning, the smaller sister to Sanibel Island where we board our island cruise. Enjoy a relaxing journey to Useppa Island, once a 1920s sport fishing haven for the rich and famous. The island’s aristocratic ambiance is captured with picturesque white cottages, pink pathways and lush vegetation. The museum here tells the story of early inhabitants to present day on the island.
Day 6 : Fort Myers Beach
Bask in the sun's warm glow and be soothed by the sound of the waves on Fort Myers Beach this morning. Enjoy leisure time to shop, grab a bite to eat, explore the area and marvel at the beautiful surroundings. Then we get ready for a night of fine dining and entertainment.
Day 7 : Naples Zoo
Get ready to go wild during our day at the Naples Zoo at Caribbean Gardens! This eclectic zoo combines conservation and recreation and includes a variety of exhibits ranging from lions and kangaroos to the fosa of Madagascar. We’ll board a catamaran for the Primate Expedition Cruise, gently floating around the islands and viewing a variety of primate species. Recreated natural habitats reveal monkeys, lemurs, and apes. There’s time this afternoon to explore Naples’ historic pier. Tonight we reminisce with new friends at our special Holiday Vacations Farewell Dinner.
