Our ultimate arctic adventure begins with a flight to scenic Winnipeg, the capital of Manitoba. Known as “The Gateway to the West,” this vibrant multicultural city offers many fascinating attractions and restaurants and will be our home for the next two nights.
Day 2 : Discover Winnipeg
After enjoying a delicious included breakfast, we’ll discover Winnipeg’s rich, historic past on a city tour. Learn about St. Boniface Basilica, Winnipeg’s French Quarter, and the Exchange District, a National Historic Site home to one of North America’s finest collections of turn-of-the-last century architecture. We’ll also visit The Forks, home to year-round shopping, dining, entertainment and 6,000 years of history.
Explore the Assiniboine Park Zoo where we experience the world’s most comprehensive Northern species exhibit Journey to Churchill. This 10-acre site features cold-climate species such as Arctic fox and muskox. Next, watch Northern Lights dance around the 360-degree domed Aurora Borealis Theatre.
After lunch, visit the Manitoba Museum for a dose of natural history and human heritage.
Later we get to know our fellow travelers at a special Holiday Vacations Welcome Dinner.

Today we board our short flight to “The Polar Bear Capital of the World,” Churchill, Manitoba!
We’ll enjoy a tour of Churchill including Cape Merry, a stone battery designed to protect the area; the Port of Churchill, Canada’s only arctic seaport; and the Manitoba Conservation’s Polar Bear Holding Facility, home to many of the cubs and full-size bears from the area that are in need of extra attention.

Upon our return, have dinner and take in a presentation about Churchill’s history, wildlife, and the lifestyle of its residents.
Day 5 : Dog Sled Excursion
Find your wild side today as we go on an exciting dog sledding excursion in Churchill’s boreal forest. Learn about the history associated with dog sledding in Northern Canada, then enjoy an exhilarating ride behind a strong team of huskies on a custom-made sled.
