The hustle, bustle and sheer size makes New York one of my favorite cities on earth. It’s the city that never sleeps, and it has it all – history, culture, food, countless events, and so much more.
The thing I love the most is that it is truly a melting pot.
You can literally move through an American history book just by walking the streets. In Lower Manhattan, find yourself transported to the Revolutionary Period as you take in the earth-toned walls of Trinity Church and walk out the front door onto Wall Street, where our first president was inaugurated. Or, stroll through the quaint, picturesque grounds of St. Paul’s Chapel (in the shadows of the One World Trade Tower), which was built 10 years before we declared our independence. Inside, you can even discover our first national bird – the turkey! Gobble, gobble!
In the early 1900’s over 14 million people would immigrate through Ellis Island. It’s no wonder why New York is often called “the cultural capital of the world.” If food is your passion, you are in luck! There are so many choices to choose from; savor pasta in Little Italy, Kung Pao in China Town, eat your way through Hell’s Kitchen, or my personal favorite, grab a slice of traditional New York pizza at Joe’s Pizza in Times Square – you may even spot a celebrity! Top it off with savory cheesecake from Junior’s before seeing a world-renowned show on Broadway.
With new adventures around every corner, there is something for everyone in New York City.
