Day 1 : Depart USA
Journey to Prague overnight.
Day 2 : Arrive in Europe
We arrive in the Czech Republic for two nights in Prague. This evening get acquainted with your fellow traveling companions at a Holiday Vacations Welcome Dinner.
Day 3 : Prague
Learn why Prague is one of Europe’s best-preserved medieval cities on a walking tour with a local guide. Guests have their choice of a walking tour of Prague Castle followed by a guided walking tour of the Old Town or a guided tour of the Old Town only. Prague Castle is a breathtaking masterpiece of Baroque architecture that has been home to Bohemian kings, Roman emperors, and Czech presidents. The Castle looks down on the medieval Old Town which runs along the banks of the Vltava River. The afternoon is free to explore Prague at leisure.
Day 4 : Cesky Krumlov
Today we discover one of the most beautiful cities of the Czech Republic. The medieval village of Cesky Krumlov dates back to 1240 and is now recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enjoy a guided walking tour through the historic inner city including views of Krumlov Castle. This afternoon we board our luxurious Amadeus Cruises ship in Passau.
Day 5 : Regensburg & Weltenburg Abbey
We arrive at Regensburg, Germany. Board an excursion boat and travel to the Weltenburg Abbey. The Benedictine monastery, founded around 620 AD, is the oldest monastery in Bavaria. We tour the abbey church and taste their famous dark beer brewed in the world’s oldest monastery brewery.
Day 6 : Passau & Linz
Today we float into the city of Passau, Germany. Walk the City of Three Rivers and take in the Baroque masterpiece, St. Stephen’s Cathedral, featuring the largest cathedral organ in the world. The afternoon takes us into Linz, Austria, once acknowledged as a European Capital of Culture. Step into dazzling St. Mary’s Cathedral, and after, make time to taste a Linzer torte.
Day 7 : Wachau Valley
We return to our riverboat for lunch and an afternoon of sailing through the heart of the Wachau Valley, one of the most scenic parts of the Danube River.
This morning we dock in Emmersdorf, Austria, across the river from Melk. Go on an included shore excursion to the 900-year-old, Baroque-style Benedictine Melk Abbey. Visit the modern Abbey Museum and tour the Prelature Hall, Marble Hall, and the world famous Abbey Library. We return to our riverboat for lunch and an afternoon of sailing through the heart of the Wachau Valley, one of the most scenic parts of the Danube River. This evening we arrive in Vienna.
Day 8 : Vienna
The grand sights of Vienna await us as we tour the historic city center. Marvel at Vienna’s famous gothic St. Stephen’s Cathedral, see the quirky Expressionist Hundertwasser architecture, and view the impressive Hofburg Palace. After lunch, become enchanted with Schönbrunn Palace, the opulent 1,441-room summer residence of the Habsburg rulers. Tonight we are guests at The Sound of Vienna concert at the Kursalon, one of Vienna’s most exclusive and enchanting music venues. Listen as the Alt Wien orchestra takes the stage for an evening of waltzes, polkas, arias, and operettas.
Day 9 : Bratislava
Enjoy a full day in Bratislava, the capital city of Slovakia. Our included shore excursion and walking tour includes views of Bratislava Castle that stands on the Little Carpathian mountain range, offering panoramic views of Slovakia, Austria, and Hungary. Return to the riverboat for lunch before going ashore again with free time to explore Bratislava’s Old Town. This evening we enjoy the Captain’s Gala Dinner.
Day 10 : Esztergom & Szentendre
See the third largest basilica in Europe in Esztergom before discovering the artists’ village of Szentendre. Enjoy the scenery as we approach Budapest. Regarded as the Queen of the Danube, the twin cities of Buda and Pest are linked by graceful bridges. After dinner on board, delight in an illumination cruise of this majestic city.
Day 11 : Budapest
After breakfast we leave the ship for a city tour of Budapest. See the Parliament Building, a neo-Gothic structure along the banks of the Danube and one of the world’s greatest legislative buildings. Then view the Millennium Monument in Hero’s Square and the neo-Renaissance Opera House. Highlights include the towering dome of St. Stephen’s Basilica, the Royal Castle Hill district, and the seven stone towers of the Fisherman’s Bastion. Have free time this afternoon to explore on your own. This evening we enjoy a farewell dinner with our fellow travelers.
Day 12 : Fly Home
Return home with fond memories of our incredible adventures along the beautiful Danube River.

Upon arriving in Prague, we check in to our hotel for two evenings and take time to rest before getting to know fellow travelers at a Welcome Dinner.
Day 3 : City Tour & Folklore Show
Every morning of our vacation begins with a wonderful included breakfast. Today, you may choose to take a guided walking tour of Old Town and tour Prague Castle, a breathtaking Baroque masterpiece overlooking the Vltava River. Alternatively, you may spend all of your time in Old Town with sights of the Royal Palace, historic churches, and panoramic views of the surrounding scenery. The afternoon is yours to explore more of this stunning city. Tonight, we gather for dinner with an exciting folklore show. Enjoy traditional folk songs and gypsy dances, then join in on the fun!
Today, we venture to one of the Czech Republic’s most beautiful cities, Cesky Krumlov. This medieval village and UNESCO World Heritage Site dates back to 1240, offering a plethora of history to discover. Enjoy its Bohemian charm and fairytale architecture during our guided walking tour through the inner city, featuring views of Krumlov Castle. This afternoon, we travel to Passau to board our luxurious AMADEUS ship. Opulent rooms, all meals, a beverage package, free Wi-Fi, and daily shore excursions are included as part of this phenomenal cruise.
Day 5 : Passau, Germany
Our day kicks off by exploring Passau, known as the City of Three Rivers because it lies at the confluence of the Danube, Inn, and Ilz Rivers. Become immersed in over 2,000 years of history on a guided walking excursion that includes St. Stephen’s Cathedral, home to Europe’s largest cathedral organ. The rest of the day is yours to spend as you wish.
Day 6 : Linz, Austria
We dock in Linz this morning, then take a scenic motorcoach ride to the beautiful City of Music, Salzburg. Enjoy a guided tour to admire the famous Baroque architecture and well-preserved city center in Old Town, a renowned UNESCO World Heritage Site. We also view the birth house of Mozart, Salzburg Cathedral, and Getreidegasse, a quaint alley along the river with charming shops. After lunch together, our journey continues to the picturesque village of Mondsee, best known as a filming location for The Sound of Music. Later, our motorcoach brings us back to Linz for time to admire the cultural attractions and taste a Linzer torte.
Day 7 : The Wachau Valley
This morning, we dock in Emmersdorf, across the river from Melk. Embark on an included excursion to Melk Abbey, a 900-year-old Baroque-style Benedictine abbey. Visit the modern museum and world-famous library, then stroll Prelature Hall, Marble Hall, and the gorgeous Abbey Park. We return to our ship for lunch and an afternoon of stunning vistas as we glide through the heart of UNESCO World Heritage-listed Wachau Valley. Later, we arrive in the charming village of Durnstein for time at leisure to visit a museum or the castle and taste liquor crafted with Wachau apricots.
Day 8 : Vienna, Austria
The grand sights of Vienna await us today. Tour the historic city center with St. Stephen’s Cathedral, the quirky Expressionist house known as Hundertwasserhaus, and the former imperial Hofburg Palace. After lunch, we admire one of the country’s most notable cultural monuments with over 1,400 opulent rooms, Schonbrunn Palace. Our evening is filled with ballet dancers, opera singers, and the melodies of famous composers, performed by the Alt Wien orchestra at the Kursalon’s The Sound of Vienna concert.
Day 9 : Bratislava, Slovakia
Take advantage of a full day in Bratislava, one of the Danube’s best jewels. Our included excursion is a walking tour where we see the old city walls, the home of the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra, and Bratislava Castle on the Little Carpathian Mountain range, providing panoramic views of three countries simultaneously: Slovakia, Austria, and Hungary. The afternoon is yours to explore personal interests, such as visiting Old Town, a pedestrian-only town from the 18th century known for its lively bars and quaint cafes. This evening, we enjoy the Captain’s Gala dinner aboard the ship.
Day 10 : Esztergom & Szentendre, Hungary
Discover the lovely Hungarian countryside today! Our first port, Esztergom, provides an opportunity to see the third-largest basilica in Europe. This afternoon, we continue to the artists’ village of Szentendre to browse the fabulous art galleries and museums. Tonight, delight in a Budapest illumination cruise as the shimmering lights of this majestic city surround us.
Day 11 : Budapest, Hungary
We disembark in Budapest today and enjoy a tour of one of Europe’s most beautiful cities. View all of the must-see attractions including the Parliament building, Millennium Monument in Hero’s Square, the towering dome of St. Stephen’s Basilica, Royal Castle Hill district, the neo-Renaissance Opera House, and the seven stone towers of the Fisherman’s Bastion. The afternoon is yours for individual exploration. Later, we check in to our accommodations and gather for a celebratory Farewell Dinner.
