Experience a phenomenal African safari adventure, where Kenya’s extraordinary landscapes, diverse wildlife, magnificent park lodges, and exceptionally welcoming people await. Arrive in Nairobi, the capital of Kenya and the Safari Capital of the World, to explore the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust orphanage and become immersed in local culture at Bomas of Kenya. Other fascinating visits include Jane Goodall’s Chimpanzee Sanctuary, a haven for orphaned chimps, and Nairobi National Museum. Embark on thrilling game drives within Shaba National Reserve, Samburu or Buffalo Springs National Reserve, Sweetwaters Game Reserve, Lake Nakuru National Park, and Masai Mara National Reserve. We also have a chance to witness the Great Migration, considered one of the “Seven Wonders of the Natural World,” when millions of animals migrate from Tanzania across the Mara-Serengeti. All guests receive an iconic safari hat and unlimited, complimentary filtered water throughout the tour!

  • Day 1: Depart the United States
    Our adventure begins with an overnight flight to Europe.
  • Day 2: Fly to Kenya
    This morning, we arrive in Europe and take a connecting flight to Kenya’s vibrant capital, Nairobi. Our English-speaking local guide warmly welcomes us and escorts us to our luxurious home for the next two nights. Nestled just outside the city center, Sarova Panafric Hotel offers a blend of modern comfort and Kenyan charm, with spacious rooms, lush gardens, exceptional dining options, and a relaxing wellness center.
  • Day 3: Sheldrick Wildlife Trust
    Our day begins with a visit to Sheldrick Wildlife Trust’s Nairobi Nursery, the most successful elephant rescue and rehabilitation program in the world! Later, we get to know fellow travelers better over a wonderful Welcome Dinner at the Manji Family Residence.

  • Day 4: Aberdare National Park
    We depart for central Kenya this morning and watch for views of soaring Mount Kenya along the way. Arriving in the heart of Aberdare National Park, known for its picturesque rainforest with towering waterfalls and deep ravines, we enjoy a delicious lunch at Aberdare Country Club. Next, we settle into our accommodations at The Ark Lodge. The nearby floodlit waterhole attracts a variety of wildlife during our stay, providing incredible viewing opportunities of elephants, buffalo, monkeys, and leopards from the comfort of our lodge’s deck.

  • Day 5: Shaba National Reserve
    Today, we travel to Sarova Shaba Game Lodge, our home for the next two nights. Located within Shaba National Reserve, this serene oasis is perfect for soaking up the breathtaking surroundings and reconnecting with nature. Later, we embark on an afternoon game drive in search of lions, elephants, Grevy’s zebras, reticulated giraffes, the elusive leopard, and many others. Our custom safari land cruisers have pop-up game-viewing rooftops, reference guidebooks, and coolers with complimentary filtered water.

  • Day 6: Exciting Game Drives
    Our day promises unforgettable adventures with morning and afternoon game drives through Samburu or Buffalo Springs National Reserves, both connected to Shaba National Reserve. Our trusted guide takes us to the best areas for seeking out extraordinary and unique species found only north of the Equator. Between our thrilling drives, unwind with a refreshing swim, sip a drink by the poolside bar, or savor fresh fruits and vegetables from the hotel’s garden.

  • Day 7: Sweetwaters Game Reserve
    This morning, we depart for Nanyuki Spinners and Weavers to discover how this remarkable organization empowers local women through the craft of spinning, knitting, and weaving. Our journey then takes us to Sweetwaters Tented Camp, nestled within the expansive 24,000-acre Sweetwaters Game Reserve. Each luxury tent features a thatched roof, en-suite bathroom, and private veranda. After lunch, we embark on a late afternoon game drive to watch for a plethora of wildlife – lions, elephants, rhinos, cheetahs, and countless birds. Our day concludes with a heartwarming visit to Jane Goodall’s Chimpanzee Sanctuary, a safe haven for mistreated and orphaned chimps.

  • Day 8: Lake Nakuru National Park
    Today’s journey takes us to Lake Nakuru National Park for lunch at Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge, set near gardens and the glistening lake. This afternoon, grab your complimentary safari hat and essentials pack as we embark on a photo safari of these preserved lands, located on the floor of the Great Rift Valley. Home of Kenya’s first rhino sanctuary, this area is renowned for its impressive population of black rhinos, along with white rhinos, reedbucks, warthogs, baboons, Rothschild giraffes, and over 400 bird species, such as pink flamingos. Our accommodations are at nearby Lake Elmenteita Serena Camp, just outside of the park.

  • Day 9: Mara Serena Safari Lodge
    This morning, we travel to the famous Masai Mara National Reserve, Kenya’s most iconic wildlife sanctuary. After lunch at Sarova Mara Game Camp, enjoy an afternoon drive en route to Mara Serena Safari Lodge, our home for the next three nights. This lodge is the ultimate safari destination, perched high on the saddle of a hill for spectacular views across the vast plains, forests, and rivers.

  • Day 10: Masai Mara National Reserve
    For guests who booked the optional hot air balloon excursion, we rise just before the sun for a once-in-a-lifetime experience soaring over the vast Serengeti plains, followed by a champagne breakfast. Afterwards, our group gathers for morning and afternoon game drives in the great Mara-Serengeti ecosystem, home to Africa’s “Big Five” – lions, elephants, buffalo, rhinos, and leopards. Today is also our first opportunity to experience one of the most intriguing spectacles on Earth: the Great Migration! During this time of the year, millions of wildebeests and thousands of zebras, gazelles, and elands migrate across the Mara River from Tanzania in search of rich soil, water, and green grass.

  • Day 11: The Great Migration
    Our day is again filled with captivating morning and afternoon game drives in the Masai Mara National Reserve, providing additional chances to observe the largest and longest overland migration in the world. Game is found here in staggering numbers, which supports a tremendous predator population. There are thousands of crocodiles lurking in the Mara River in anticipation of the herds of wildebeest crossing! This evening, marvel at the warm and vibrant Kenyan sunset once more during our last overnight in this unforgettable country.

  • Day 12: Nairobi National Museum
    We board our flight back to Nairobi and visit the Nairobi National Museum to learn about the local culture and national heritage. Early this evening, we celebrate our extraordinary adventure with a Farewell Dinner before beginning our journey back home.

  • Day 13: Arrive Home
    We land back in the United States today, returning home with treasured memories and photos of our time in Kenya.
