Day Itinerary

Day Itinerary

Day 1 : Fly to Honolulu

We are welcomed to paradise with a traditional lei greeting before checking in to our hotel for two nights. Rooms feature private lanais and an ideal location close to the white sands of Waikiki Beach with views of Diamond Head.

Day 2 : Pearl Harbor

Start the day with a delicious breakfast at our hotel. Then, journey to the most moving site on Oahu, Pearl Harbor National Memorial. On December 7, 1941, the Japanese attacked the Navy’s Pacific Fleet, catapulting the U.S. into World War II. We stop by the visitor center to view the exhibits that recall that pivotal day. Then, embark on a Navy launch to the USS Arizona Memorial, which spans the sunken battleship. After a Holiday Vacations Welcome Lunch, we tour the Honolulu area, viewing the volcanic shaped Hawaiian State Capitol building and Iolani Palace, the only palace in the U.S. once inhabited by a reigning monarch. We then visit the Punchbowl, an extinct volcano and home of the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific.

Breakfast, Lunch

Day 3 : Pride of America

After a relaxing morning we transfer to the only U.S.-flagged cruise ship, Norwegian Cruise Line's Pride of America, to begin our seven-night cruise. Enjoy all the benefits of NCL’s Freestyle Cruising where you set your own schedule with a variety of activities and dining options. Delight in spectacular live entertainment and the ship’s popular deck parties. The onboard native ambassadors will teach us about their culture, providing an authentic Hawaii experience.

Dinner

Day 4 : Maui

Our first port of call is Kahului, Maui. We have ample time to explore the Valley Isle, named for its long blankets of green set against soaring mountains. Popular excursions include the Road to Hana and visits to Haleakala National Park.

Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 5 : The Valley Isle

Wake up for a second day on Maui today and choose from NCL’s excursions to the old whaling port of Lahaina, the Maui Ocean Center, or relax onboard and enjoy the variety of entertainment and dining options. Catch a show at an onboard venue with live music in casual lounges, or join a DJ dance party at sea!

Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 6 : Volcanoes National Park

We sail into Hilo on the Big Island this morning, gateway to the fascinating world of active volcanoes. We visit Rainbow Falls, famous for producing iconic Hawaiian rainbows, with cascading water from 80 feet high. Then, we stop for a delicious included lunch just outside Volcanoes National Park. After lunch, with our own private driver-guide, we explore volcanic craters, steam vents, and eerie lava formations. Volcanoes National Park displays the monumental results of 70 million years of volcanic activity and sheds light on the creation of the Hawaiian Islands. Back on board our ship, we cruise around the Big Island to Kona.

Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 7 : The Big Island

We visit the leeward (west) side of the Big Island today, anchoring off the coast and taking tenders into the heart of Kailua-Kona. Time is at your leisure to choose from a variety of activities such as a black sand beach hike, glass-bottom reef tour, historic Kona tour, or discovering why this area is famous for its coffee. On the optional tour of Kona, you'll witness St. Benedict's historic painted church, noted for its colorful murals depicting biblical scenes. You also discover Old Hawaii at Pu'uhonua O Honaunau National Historical Park. This place of refuge has served as a political and religious sanctuary for the breakers of sacred law (kapu) since ancient times. Here you find a temple that once housed the bones of deceased chiefs with wooden images of the gods that protect it.

Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 8 : Evening Luau

We dock in Nawiliwili, Kauai, this morning and stay overnight. Kauai is known as The Garden Isle, a lush paradise of rainforest, tropical flowers, magnificent canyons, and beaches. Norwegian Cruise Line provides many exciting options to explore this beautiful island for the day. Tonight we are immersed in the flavor, culture and sound of Polynesia with an included excursion at Luau Kalamaku at Kilohana Plantation.

Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 9 : Na Pali Coast

Discover more of Kauai today, with time this morning for an optional Mokihana Helicopter adventure for bird’s-eye-views of colorful Waimea Canyon and the “Valley of the Lost Tribe,” shrouded in mystery. Back on board our ship this afternoon, we cruise the breathtaking Na Pali Coast to marvel at the stunning cliffs that plummet down 4,000 feet to the ocean.

Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
