Day Itinerary

Day Itinerary

Day 1 : Fly to Papeete

We depart the United States on a comfortable flight to Tahiti, arriving late evening. After clearing customs at Faa’a International Airport, we settle into our accommodations in Papeete.

Day 2 : Tahiti Island Tour & the Star Breeze

This morning, we begin our explorations of the island with a West Coast tour. Discover Tahiti’s beautiful sights with views of black sand beaches, the vibrant lagoon, and lush valleys. We see the fascinating archaeological site of Marae Arahurahu, Water Gardens of Vaipahi, and the Museum of Tahiti and The Islands, where we learn about Polynesian heritage and discover treasures of Oceanic. This afternoon, we stop by The Restaurant Bar at Musee Gauguin for an authentic lunch, then board Windstar’s Star Breeze to experience the luxury of small ship cruising. This newly renovated, all-suite yacht is small enough to venture into ports beyond the reach of larger vessels, yet expansive enough to provide high-class entertainment and amenities. Enjoy upscale, spacious suites with an ocean view and all meals included onboard!

Lunch, Dinner

Day 3 : Cook’s Bay, Moorea

Our first port of call is the volcanic island of Moorea, known as the “pride and joy of French Polynesia.” Journey into the rugged landscapes of dense rainforests that cover the mountains or explore the marine life and coral reef ecosystem. There are many phenomenal shore excursions you may purchase including a snorkel safari, stingray encounter, and 4x4 adventure. If you’re interested in capturing some photographic keepsakes, you also have the option of joining a professional photographer on an island tour.

Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 4 : Uturoa, Raiatea

Our ship docks in Raiatea today, known as the “Sacred Island.” There are countless archeological treasures and thousands of years of history to be discovered here, as it is considered the first homeland of Polynesians that migrated from Southeast Asia around 1000 AD. The day is free to spend as you wish, with relaxation or a shore excursion such as a tour of Marae Taputapuatea. Dedicated to the god of war Oro, this expansive complex once hosted important ceremonies for kings and is considered the cornerstone of historic Polynesian culture. Nature lovers may enjoy a moderate hike to explore the lush landscapes and towering waterfalls, while gazing upon the island’s rare flora and fauna.

Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 5 : Motu Mahaea, Taha’a

We dock at the neighboring islet of Motu Mahaea this morning, known for its peaceful atmosphere and many vanilla farms. You may choose to purchase an optional excursion to various sacred sites or relax on the white sandy beach near crystal-clear waters. Windstar’s complimentary water sports rentals are available for use to enjoy paddleboarding, snorkeling, and more. We gather for a special included lunch today, a savory barbecue with tropical refreshments.

Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 6 : Exclusive Polynesian Show & Beach Dinner

Today’s port of call is Bora Bora, famous for its opulent beaches, gorgeous turquoise lagoon, and overwater bungalows. This island sits in a caldera that was formed millions of years ago when an extinct volcano with two peaks erupted, Mount Otemanu and Mount Pahia, giving this area incredibly unique geography. Enjoy a traditional lei greeting upon arrival, then later we gather for an exclusive dinner and entertainment on the beach. Delight your tastebuds with exceptional cuisine crafted by Windstar’s executive chef as you watch a spectacular Polynesian fire dancing show. Tonight, our ship overnights on a “motu,” one of Bora Bora’s small, secluded islets with beautiful scenery and a relaxing atmosphere.

Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 7 : Vaitape, Bora Bora

Enjoy another full day to soak up heavenly Bora Bora. Spend more time relaxing on the luxurious beaches or book one of the many wonderful excursions available, including a jet ski tour, jeep safari, snorkeling, or sunset sailing adventure.

Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 8 : Maroe Bay, Huahine

We arrive in Huahine today, known as the Garden of Eden and one of Tahiti’s best kept secrets. This island is an explorer’s paradise as the entire area is an open-air museum with hundreds of ancient Polynesian temples! Don’t miss an opportunity to visit the island’s only town, Fare, to browse quaint shops and experience authentic Polynesian hospitality. You may also enjoy seeing the 400-year-old stone fishing traps still used today or feeding the sacred blue-eyed eels, only found in the river of Faie. Of course, this lush oasis also offers the perfect place to relax on the pristine beaches or spend time in the crystal-clear water.

Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
