Ask any Holiday Vacations traveler and they will tell you we do meals right. Our guided group tours are packed with several included meals, many of which feature decadent tastes of the local flavors. And, in true Holiday Vacations fashion, be sure to leave room for dessert! This couldn’t be more true on our San Antonio & New Orleans Cuisine and Culture tour, an eight-day getaway where the flavors of the South are ours to investigate with three nights in “The Alamo City” and another three nights in “The Birthplace of Jazz.”

The Sandy Oaks Olive Orchard

Early in the tour we get to know our fellow traveling companions and Tour Director just south of San Antonio at Sandy Oaks Orchards, the location of our Holiday Vacations Welcome Lunch. One of the first commercial orchards of its kind in the state, we’ll tour the orchard and learn how olive trees grow, then taste samples. Afterwards we’ll stick around for a tasty meal.

How do you like your hot sauce? On your food, in your Bloody Mary’s … or as far away from you as possible? En route to New Orleans we’ll explore the only Tabasco production facility in the world. It’s incredible to think that the iconic sauce has just three ingredients and ages for five years before it is bottled and sold.

Discover the basics of Cajun and Creole cuisine at the New Orleans School of Cooking, where we attend a private cooking demonstration and enjoy tastings presented by a culinary educator. According to the 2018 TripAdvisor Travelers’ Choice awards, NOSOC was voted one of the top experiences in the world and the 2nd best experience in the United States.

Feel the ambiance of New Orleans’ French Quarter at the Court of Two Sisters, a romantic dining courtyard set amidst historic buildings, gas lamps, and gardens.
