The Alzheimer’s Association We understand Alzheimer’s Disease and other forms of dementia is devastating and affects us all in one way or another. There are more than five million Americans living with Alzheimer’s and every 66 seconds someone in the United States is diagnosed with the disease. To help do our part to fight Alzheimer’s, Holiday Vacations donated more than $10,000 to the Alzheimer’s Association’s Greater Wisconsin Chapter as part of our involvement in their annual run/walk fundraiser. In thanks for our contributions to the 12th Annual City-Wide Thrift Sale for Alzheimer’s Association, Holiday Vacations was gifted a self portrait of a woman with Alzheimer’s. According to the note that came with the work of art, the self-portrait was “donated to the Sale in hopes that it would aid in the efforts to save memories in the years to come.” Today it hangs in our office break room. Kids N’ Cops Holiday Vacations contributed $10,000 towards the 2018 Kids N Cops Fundraiser, a local effort to give underprivileged children in our area winter clothing and Christmas presents. Another way our community gets involved with Kids N’ Cops is simply eating at a favorite family diner in our area. For one night during the fundraiser, a percentage of meals purchased at the restaurant go towards Kids N’ Cops. Holiday Vacations Chief Operating Officer Greg Barnes is pictured here with Sheriff Ron Kramer. Learn more about Kids N’ Cops here or email [email protected]. Half Moon Dragon Boat Festival In 2018’s warmer months, Holiday Vacations employees, their friends, and families gathered on the shores of Eau Claire’s Half Moon Lake for a friendly race across its waters with dozens of other teams. The event is produced by Mayo Clinic Health System and funds raised went to Hope in the Valley, a local nonprofit organization that brings awareness to cancer-fighting services and more in our area.
