Casual For a Cause At our headquarters in Eau Claire, an opportunity for casual attire is helping us do more for our community. It started with a desire to do more. Last September Holiday Vacations supported a team of 19 employees to participate in the 2017 Walk to End Alzheimer’s in the city of our home office, Eau Claire, WI. We are proud to support the Alzheimer’s Association, who runs the race, so we explored news ways to support them. After some research, we heard about the Casual for a Cause program – employees donate a small amount to come to work in casual attire once per month and wear a sticker to show their support. We tried this out in October through December of 2017, resulting in the Holiday Vacations staff raising $375 for the Alzheimer’s Association. In December, we surveyed our employees for suggestions of other local charities they would like their Casual for a Cause donations to go to. After reviewing the results, we are planning the following Casual for a Cause schedule for 2018: Donations in January through March will go to the Community Table, which provides meals to families and individuals in our area with food insecurity. Donations in April through June will go to the Feed My People Food Bank, which provides food to more than 125 hunger-relief programs throughout our area of Wisconsin. Donations in July through September will go to the Alzheimer’s Association, which funds Alzheimer’s care, support, and research. Donations in October through December will go to the Eau Claire County Humane Association, which connects homeless pets to loving homes.
