Highlights
- Day 1: Fly to South CarolinaUpon arriving in Charleston, we check in for a wonderful three-night stay.
- Day 2: CharlestonOur day begins with a tour of Magnolia Plantation and Gardens, founded in 1676 by the Drayton family. Enjoy time to explore the beautiful gardens and grounds independently before our guided tour of the 19th-century mansion. After a delicious Welcome Lunch with new friends, we embark on a nostalgic horse-drawn carriage ride through downtown Charleston. Take in sights of lovely greenery, quaint houses, mansions, parks, and churches as we trot through several blocks of the “Holy City.” The rest of the day is yours to pursue personal interests, like visiting museums, strolling Rainbow Row, and shopping at the historic city market.

- Day 3: Historic Battles & Naval LegendsThis morning, we relax on a cruise to Fort Sumter in the middle of Charleston Harbor. A National Park Service Ranger joins us to share impactful stories, including how the Battle of Fort Sumter marked the beginning of the Civil War. In the afternoon, we visit Patriot’s Point Naval and Maritime Museum for a tour featuring the Apollo 8 space capsule replica and historic aircraft aboard the USS Yorktown, followed by time to independently explore other exhibits. Later, enjoy one last evening to soak up the city’s charm as you wish.

- Day 4: SavannahWe drive to Savannah today and embark on a city tour by trolley. Take in the beautiful sights as our guide ventures into the old Historic District, featuring 18th- and 19th-century homes, picturesque waterfront views, and cotton warehouses transformed into hotels, restaurants, and shops. Next, delight in a riverboat luncheon cruise down the Savannah River with a buffet of hearty Southern cuisine. Afterwards, we check in to our hotel with time to freshen up before dinner.

- Day 5: Cathedral Basilica & Cooking ClassEnjoy a leisurely morning to relax or explore before we head to the Savannah City Market, a historic marketplace filled with some of Savannah’s most popular restaurants, art galleries, shops, and more. Our afternoon begins with a guided tour of the Cathedral Basilica of St. John the Baptist. This Roman Catholic church has a history dating back to the 1800s and beautiful Gothic Revival architecture, including two spired towers. Later, a fun cooking class at Chef Darin’s Kitchen Table awaits! Team up with other guests to prepare flavors of the region and indulge in a locally sourced dinner.

- Day 6: AtlantaToday, we say goodbye to the old-time charm of Savannah and travel west to Georgia’s vibrant capital city, Atlanta. Arriving early afternoon, our first stop is the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and Museum. Dive into the life and legacy of our country’s 39th president while browsing impressive exhibits, such as a life-size replica of the Oval Office. Next, we check in to our Atlanta accommodations and have an evening free to explore the city’s incredible cuisine.

- Day 7: Georgia AquariumOur day starts at Georgia Aquarium, one of the largest aquariums in the world. Marvel at seven massive galleries featuring hundreds of species, from bottlenose dolphins and hammerhead sharks to African penguins and California sea lions. Following lunch on your own at the historic Ponce City Market, we stop at Centennial Olympic Park, a 22-acre park honoring Georgia’s legacy of the 1996 Summer Olympics. The afternoon is yours to stroll the park’s scenic pathways, visit the Fountain of Rings, and enjoy its many attractions, such as the World of Coca-Cola, the College Football Hall of Fame, the National Center for Civil and Human Rights, SkyView Atlanta, and the Apex Museum. When returning to the hotel, there’s time to freshen up and relax before this evening’s celebratory Farewell Dinner.
