  • Day 1: Fly to Sacramento
    Our exhilarating getaway begins with a flight to Sacramento. Upon landing, we settle into our comfortable accommodations for the night.
  • Day 2: Guided City Tour of Landmarks
    Each morning of our trip includes a delicious breakfast at the hotel. Today, we begin our journey through Sacramento, California’s capital city. While out on a guided city tour, we see iconic landmarks including Old Sacramento’s waterfront, the State Capitol, and tree-lined streets that tell the history of the city. Later, we savor an appetizing Welcome Lunch at an inviting farm-to-fork restaurant featuring locally sourced and seasonal ingredients. The rest of the day is at leisure; check out local shops, sample wine at a nearby vineyard, or gaze at the artwork throughout the city.

  • Day 3: Reno
    Our day begins with a stop by the Donner Memorial State Park Museum, which brings the compelling story of the ill-fated Donner Party and early pioneers to life through picturesque alpine surroundings and powerful exhibits. Next, we head to Reno for a leisurely lunch before stepping back in time at the fascinating National Automobile Museum. The site is home to a remarkable collection of vintage cars that illustrates the evolution of American style and innovation. Afterwards, we go on an orientation tour of Reno. Notice how modern energy meets historic roots along the Truckee River and lively downtown streets! As the sun begins to set, we check into our accommodations and spend the evening at leisure, with time to relax or take in the Reno nightlife.

    Today, we set out for Virginia City, an exceptionally well-preserved mining town sitting high above the desert. While roaming through the city, our guide unveils tales of the American West. Following our tour, enjoy some time at leisure to eat lunch and go sightseeing in this atmospheric frontier town; stroll boardwalks lined with time-honored saloons, 19th-century buildings, and eclectic shops. This afternoon, we trek to Carson City for a guided tour of Nevada’s capital. Tree-lined streets and stately government buildings reflect the city’s rich pioneer and political heritage. After returning to our hotel in Reno to freshen up, we get together for a mouthwatering dinner at Red’s Old 395 Grill, famous for its welcoming Western charm and hearty fare.

    We begin the day with breakfast before experiencing the Stewart Indian School Cultural Center and Museum, a historically significant site that shares the stories, culture, and resilience of Native American students who learned and lived here as early as 1890. Next, we make our way to Gardnerville for a Basque-style lunch at the iconic JT BASQUE Bar & Dining Room, a 60+ year-old restaurant known for its multi-course family-style meals and electrifying Picon punch — the official state drink of Nevada. Later, we return to Reno and settle into our hotel before an evening at leisure. You may choose to check out the Burning Man sculptures, grab a bite to eat at one of Midtown’s restaurants, or try your luck at a nearby casino.

  • Day 6: Lake Tahoe
    Our day promises unforgettable adventures this morning in the Lake Tahoe region, beginning with a scenic drive along the breathtaking Mount Rose Highway. As you cross the summit, take in views of the crystal-clear waters and alpine scenery set against the Sierra Nevada. At midday, we board the M.S. Dixie II for a picturesque cruise across Lake Tahoe’s deep blue waters. Gaze at Vikingsholm Castle and learn about the history of Tahoe while enjoying the “Best Cruise in Nevada.” After the cruise, we continue our journey around Lake Tahoe along the scenic California side of the lake, stopping in charming lakeside communities along the way before returning to the hotel later this evening.
