Next, we head to FlyOver Iceland for the ultimate introduction to the Land of Fire and Ice with motion seating and a wraparound screen, simulating a flight over expansive glaciers and volcanic valleys. Our discoveries continue at Aurora Reykjavik, where we learn about the science and folklore behind the magical northern lights. After gazing upon the unique exterior of Harpa Concert Hall and the city’s best-known landmark, Hallgrimskirkja Church, there’s time to explore downtown on your own. - Day 3: Whale Watching & Folk MuseumThis morning, we set off on an unforgettable whale-watching excursion! As we cruise Faxafloi Bay, soak in the spectacular coastal scenery while keeping an eye out for minke and humpback whales, white-beaked dolphins, porpoises, and an array of seabirds. Our onboard guides share fascinating insights into marine life and teach us how to spot whales like an expert. Afterwards, enjoy lunch on your own before our drive to West Iceland. We stop at the Akranes Folk Museum, a captivating site featuring historic buildings, maritime exhibits, and a diverse collection of local artifacts that tell the story of life along Iceland’s coast. Arriving in the peaceful Reykholt region, we settle into accommodations that are perfectly located for seeking out the enchanting glow of the northern lights.

- Day 4: Snaefellsnes PeninsulaOur day begins with a visit to Europe’s most powerful hot spring, Deildartunguhver, where we stand in awe of the steaming waters rising from the earth and learn how geothermal energy fuels the region’s homes. We then witness the powerful cascades of two picturesque waterfalls: Hraunfossar, a series of crystal-clear streams trickling through ancient lava to create a spectacular display of colors, and Barnafoss, a mysterious torrent that carves its way through a narrow gorge. Later, we drive to Arnarstapi for a walk along massive basalt columns with views of the iconic Gatklettur rock arch rising from the sea. The dramatic scenery continues to unfold as we explore Snaefellsjokull National Park, featuring moss-covered lava flows, volcanic rock formations, and serene black-pebble beaches. Returning to the hotel, we enjoy dinner and relaxation before another opportunity to discover the vibrant aurora borealis tonight.

- Day 5: Golden Circle of Natural WondersToday is brimming with farm-to-table foods and extraordinary marvels as we venture into the Golden Circle of Natural Wonders. We begin by exploring Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the world’s oldest ongoing parliament. Admire the dramatic landscape where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates meet, creating bulging lava fields and glacial pools. Our next stop is Fridheimar to savor a special lunch at the farm, see how tomatoes are grown in their greenhouses year-round, and learn about the fascinating gaits of Icelandic horses. Afterwards, we experience the power of Gullfoss Waterfall as glacial water thunders down a rugged canyon. We then stroll through the Geysir Hot Springs area, packed with bubbling mud pits and explosive geysers, including Strokkur, which spouts water 100 feet into the air like clockwork. Later, our taste buds are treated to regional delights at Efstidalur II farm while we hear about Iceland’s important dairy history. Tonight, we check in to our accommodations in Selfoss and search the sky for shimmering lights.

- Day 6: Reykjanes Peninsula & Blue LagoonRise and shine for a spectacular coastal drive along the Reykjanes Peninsula, a UNESCO Global Geopark. Have your camera ready as we view the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, the only place in the world where it is visible above sea level! We then visit Iceland’s most popular attraction, the Blue Lagoon, to soak in the mineral-rich seawater that’s naturally a constant 102°F. Take advantage of the silica mud mask and beverage that come in your included Comfort Package! Feeling refreshed and energized, we travel to a nearby town for lunch before viewing Lake Kleifarvatn, uniquely filled with underground water. Later, we return to Reykjavik and enjoy a celebratory Farewell Dinner.
